Sid and I made a run to Frisco this evening. On our way back, I spotted a lose dog with no collar running in the middle of the highway. She was obviously very scared and very out of her element. We pulled over and rolled down the window to get her out of the street because she was seconds from being hit by a car. We could hear howling and crying - she wasn't hurt at all, she was justing showing us her bluetick coonhound ways, but it was pretty pitiful to see her running dangerously close to traffic howling her little head off. She took to us immediately and jumped in the Jeep with no hestitation. That's when we discovered that she is the sweetest dog ever. She kept nuzzling with us and loving on us, so we knew it was safe to take her home so we could start the search for her owners. We found her in town, and judging from her inexperience with traffic, we feel sure her home is somewhere very close to ours. No luck so far, but if she isn't claimed, we have no doubts we can find her a home, especially since she is a purebred. Dixie and Bear like her so far, but Bear is struggling a tad with jealousy. As I type, Ms. Bluetick is laying in bed beside me (no, we don't normally let dogs in the bed, but this girl is pretty clingy).
